CONSTITUTION:A multiplex signal from an incoming highway (HW) 60 is exchanged to an outgoing HW61 via time division switches 10, 11 controlled with control memories 20, 21. A central controller 4 discriminates the number of time slot in one frame required by a call to be connected through the information from a common line signal device 3 and assigns a vacant channel in one frame for the required number through selection without the consideration of equal timing between channels arbitrarily. Exchanger of multi-dimensional traffic with high flexibility can be made by avoiding the equal timing to the assigned channel.
