CONSTITUTION:Three electron guns 12a, 12b, 12c are arranged at the neck section of a Braun tube 11 while three color phosphor material layers 13a, 13b, 13c are applied in stripe in the horizontal deflecting direction on the inner face of a face plate 15. An optical path 16 made of high refraction layer while surrounded by low refraction layer 17 is formed at the center of the face plate 15 to lead out the light from the phosphor material to the outside while synthesizing. When scanning the electron beam 14 in synchronization with the horizontal scanning period, the color synthesized picture image for single scanning line is led out from the optical path 16. Said picture image is scanned on a screen through a rotary mirror synchronized with the vertical scanning period to produce the two dimensional color picture image.
