Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the heat radiation and suppress noise as well as to compact the size of titled device by a method wherein a motor and a pump are set in the housing space of a cylindrical tank consisting of both inside and outside cylinders in a power unit in which the motor and the pump are installed.

CONSTITUTION: The interior of a cylindrical tank 1 with bottom consisting of an outside cylinder 6 and an inside cylinder 7, etc. is deterined as a housing space 2, on the lower stage of which a totally-enclosed-fan cooled motor 3 is set and also on the top of which a variable pump 4 is set respectively. Oil 5 sucked through a suction duct 26 is discharged through a discharge pipe 30 due to the rotation of the variable pump 4 driven by the motor 3, and the oil is put back into the tank 1 via a returning pipe 27 and a drain pipe 28. As a tip 28a of the drain pipe 28 is placed near the bottom of an interior 1a after the pipe is wound around the variable pump 4, the oil is efficiently cooled not only on the surface of both outside and inside cylinders 6, 7, but in the drain pipe 28.
