Abstract

PURPOSE: To convert a runner itself into a power source for submerged starting of pump by introducing a hydrostatic pressure from a steel pipe into a return blade and by allowing a high pressure water into the runner in the direction of pump.
CONSTITUTION: An inlet valve 22 is full closed. A lower stage guide vane 8 is also full closed while a high pressure water discharge control valve 21 is full open. Flow rate adjustment of high pressue water for pump starting is performed by a high pressure water line control valve 18. The pressure adjustement of the high pressue water is performed by a pressure control unit 19 as required. A main shaft system is rotated in the direction of pump by allowing the high pressure water to pass through an upper stage runner 2. Therefore, the starting power on the side of motor for power generation can be drastically reduced or eliminated. A drain pipe 20 is communicated to a draft tube 6, which prevents water from being discharged outside. Therefore, water is not wasted.
