Abstract
PURPOSE:To generate high torque by an electromagnetic coupling device by forming a magnetic reluctance unit at the arm of the coupler or the armature of a coupling body, thus limiting the leakage magnetic flux passing through the arm via the reluctance unit and exerting all the magnetic fluxes of an excitation coil to the armature and the rotor of the coupling device. CONSTITUTION:An armature 18 in which magnetically shielding circular arc- shaped holes 18a are formed with a plurality of arms 18b remaining in the vicinity of the intermediate of magnetically shielding circular arc-shaped holes 7b radially isolated at the coupler 71 of a rotor 7 is provided. Slits 18c radially opened and having a circumferential width L1 slightly larger than the circumferential width L of the arm 18b are formed at the rotor 7 side of the respective arms 18b. The axial thickness is reduced with the slit 18c, and a magnetic reluctance unit is formed. The magnetic fluxes passing through the respective arms 18b are restricted by the reluctance unit in such a manner that all the magnetic fluxes of excitation coil 6 operate the armature 18 and the rotor 7, thereby generating high torque.
