Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute a back-search, and to easily retrieve an information, by saving the contents of an address register for designating a common address of a language memory, reading out an address in acordance with a character, and retrieving the address in the order of the character. CONSTITUTION:A character key, a language selecting key, a forward search key, a back-search key and a clear key are provided on a key-board 1, and by the language selecting key of the keyboard 1, the selecting state of language is stored in a language selecting memory 30 through a controlling circuit 2. By this memory 30, plural language memories 41-44 are selected, and a common address of the memories 41-44 is designated by an address register AR. Also, the contents of the memories 41-44 designated by the register AR are stored temporarily in registers R1-R3. On the other hand, an address read out to the register AR is stored in a list memory LM, in accordance with a character. In this way, contents of the list memory LM are transferred to the register AR, and after that, the retrieval is executed by the circuit 2 in the order of a character, and the back-search is exectured by a back-search key.
