Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of cracks during welding and fixing of tubes by using cutting jigs formed of material causing no solder embrittleness for the stainless steel tubes.
CONSTITUTION: The multiple stainless tubes 3 to be incorporated into a multitubular heat exchanger are inserted from one tube plate side toward the other tube plate side, and guide materials are inserted into the tubes 3. In this case, the cutting jig holding a guide material 11 and a cutting blade 12 formed of material which does not cause solder brittleness to the tubes 3 in a post welding process despite sticking on the stainless steel is inserted into each tube, and the jigs are rotated to cut the tubes 3 in such a way that the projecting lengths of the end faces of the tubes from the tube plate are made roughly constant, after which the tubes 3 are welded and fixed. Fe, Fe alloys, Ni, etc. are enumerated as the material which does not cause solder brittleness and non-metallic materials satisfy the conditions.
