Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive simplification and miniaturization of a device and prevent breaking of the paper during the printing operation by installing displaceably a single operating member for a platen and imparting to the operating member two functions of cutting and guiding the paper.
CONSTITUTION: When an operating member 12 is rotated with a knob 15 against the spring 18, one end of an actuating member 28 hits and contacts the periphery of a platen 1, and when the tip of a piece of paper 4 is pulled in this state in the direction indicated by an arrow mark 29, the paper 4 can be ripped off. Next, when a movable body 5 is rotated by a knob 7 until it hits and contacts a stopper 8B, the one end of the actuating member 28 comes to take a position near the platen 1, becoming a paper guide when the paper 4 is inserted. During the print signal is being generated, a stopper 13 is maintained at its rotating position because of electricity conduction through a magnet plunger 14, which probibits rotation of the member 12, and the actuating member 28 is locked at a position to which platen 1 retreats, and thereby it is avoided that the paper 4 is erroneously cut during printing.
