Abstract
PURPOSE:An adhesive suitable for bonding a heat-resistant belt conveyor, particularly a belt conveyor composed of a peroxide-crosslinked rubber, comprising an organic peroxide-vulcanizable polymer, an organic peroxide, a polyfunctional acrylate and a polyfunctional isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive is prepared by mixing (i) 100pts.wt. organic peroxide-vulcanizable polymer, (ii) an organic peroxide, (iii) 0.5-50pts.wt. at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate, an (iso)cyanate, a phthalate, a formal and a trimellitic acid derivative, and (iv) 1.0-100pts.wt. polyfunctional isocyanate compound. In use, this adhesive is applied in a form of organic solvent solution, or formed into sheets and patched. For example, endless bonding is achieved by pressure-bonding said adhesive in a sheet form to the surfaces to be bonded, A and B, pressure-bonding filling rubber 5 between reinforcing layers 2, closely contacting and pressure-bonding tie rubber 4 and cover stock 3 to the surfaces A and B, respectively, and heat-molding the assemblage.
