Abstract
PURPOSE:To alloy to apply a thin uniform plating to a strip at a high speed by combining magnetic means arranged in the vicinity of a gas wiping nozzle and a forced cooling roll. CONSTITUTION:The strip 6 passed through a plating bath 2 is subjected to the gas wiping from both sides thereof by the wiping nozzle 7. Immediately after, the strip 6 is attracted by a magnet 10 as well as supported by a support roll 11 and the rolling thereof is prevented. In this case, for example, when the strip 6 after plating is present as a curved strip 16 as shown by the broken line, magnetic force at a central part is strengthened and the magnetic force of both ends is weakened to keep the strip 6 flat and, thereby, contact pressure between the roll 11 and the strip 6 is almost equalized to a width direction. Because the roll 11 is forcedly cooled by cooling water passed through the interior thereof, the temp. of the roll 11 is controlled from being raised and the plating adhesion to the roll 11 is prevented.
