Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain titled dispersion having excellent dispersion stability, by block- copolymerizing a copolymer of a polymeric peroxide and a vinyl monomer with a different vinyl monomer in a specified organic liquid and then mixing the resulting reaction mixture with a specified organic liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A solution of a peroxy bond-containing copolymer is prepared by copolymerizing at least one polymeric peroxide represented by formula I or II, wherein R1 is a C1W18 alkylene or the like and R2 is a C2W10 alkylene or the like, with a vinyl monomer in the organic liquid (A) defined below. To this solution is added a vinyl monomer differing below. To this solution is added a vinyl monomer differing in composition from the former vinyl monomer, and the block copolymerization is performed between said peroxy bond-containing copolymer and said different vinyl monomer. To the resulting solution is added the organic liquid (B) defined below. (A) is an organic liquid which dissolves both a polymer of said vinyl monomer and a polymer of said different vinyl monomer, and (B) is defined as an organic liquid which does not dissolve a polymer of said vinyl monomer but dissolves a polymer of said different vinyl monomer.
