Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate unstable condition of the combustion flame, broaden the range of stable combustion, and increase the heat of evaporation of the fuel by a method wherein an auxiliary flame hole is formed by a heat recovery cylinder and a flame stabilizing baffle, in a combustor used in a small-size home heater.
CONSTITUTION: A combustor comprises a burner head 25 for burning a mixture of a fuel and primary air. The burner head 25 comprises straightening vanes 27 each having a port through which the mixture passes, a porous flame hole plate 28 and a flame stabilizing baffle 29, wherein the vanes 27, plate 28 and baffle 29 are laid one upon another sequentially toward the mixture injection direction, the baffle 29 having a main flame hole 37 formed in its central portion. Around the periphery of the main flame hole 37, a clearance 39 serving as an auxiliary flame hole 41 is formed by a heat recovery cylinder 38 and the flame stabilizing baffle 29, and the mixture gas passes through the clearance 39, bursting into a combustion chamber. With such arrangement, an auxiliary flame b is formed along the heat recovery cylinder 38 near the outlet of the clearance 39, enabling the opening area of the main flame hole 37 to be enlarged.
