Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent printed color on a repeatedly used ribbon from becoming light when the printer begins to move by a method wherein an electric current is passed for printing several characters for a longer time when a printing is resumed after a recess. CONSTITUTION:In a flying type dot printer where a needle driven by an armature attracted by an electromagnet flies out for printing by inertia, when printing is not continued over a previously estabilshed time, a switch 41 is closed and when printing is begun, a data signal from the CPU29 and a printing start signal also are inputted to a monostable multivibrator 34 only. A signal of time t2 longer than an ordinary printing time t1 is outputed, an armature coil to drive the printing needle is driven under the control of the signal of the longer time t2 and the needle is pressed to the ribbon for a long time.
