Abstract

PURPOSE: To firmly and uniformly join sintered metals with simple operations and processes by forming recesses in one ferrous sintered metal, filling braze material therein and heating the same.
CONSTITUTION: If in the case of joining the end faces of ferrous sintered alloys to each other recesses for filling a braze material 2 are formed only in one metal, there is danger that the positions of the faying surfaces deviate at the time of combining this with other metal, but in this case recesses 4 and convex parts 5 for positioning are provided in the ferrous sintered metals A and B respectively. There is no probblem at all in providing recesses 1 in both determining positions of the metals, and in this case, the sintered metals A and B may be positioned simply by inseting the braze material 2 in the recesses 1 and combining both. The waste of the braze material remained in the recesses after they are joined by the above is confined within the sintered metals and will not leak to the outside.
