Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the most of energy efficiency in a four-stroke internal combustion engine that reciprocates twice per a rotation by giving the best top and bottom dead centers to a piston in a cylinder in every stroke.
CONSTITUTION: A main turntable 13'a of a ratchet mechanism 13' is reciprocated by the thrust of a piston rod 7' via a rack 8' and a pinion 14', and a sub-turntable 13'c is rotated in one wise by the ratchet mechanism 13' to give a rotational output to a rotation shaft 15'. Rollers 10' and 10' are slided along a cam rim 12' of the sub-turntable 13'c to shake a lever 9' round a pivot 9'a, and thereby, a piston rod 7 is regulated in its top and bottom. At this stage, since a slider roller 7'a pivotted on the piston rod 7' can be slided in a sliding hole 9'b on the lever 9', the output part can be constructed into a small-size, and the connection to the rotation shaft 15'a on the output side permits to construct a multi-cylinder engine.
