Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive the reductions in size and weight of an autotransformer by altering the connecting sequence of unit tap windings forming a tap winding to series and parallel windings to improve the impulse-proof voltage characteristics of the autotransformer. CONSTITUTION:A tertiary winding 6, a parallel winding 2, a tap winding 3 and a series winding 4 are wound respectively in cylindrical shape, are so disposed that the tertiary winding 6 is located at the nearest to an iron core, and concentrically wound in this sequence on the iron core 1. The tap winding consists of unit tap windings 3A and 3B. There is a feature in the connecting sequence of the respective windings as below. The parallel winding 2 is connected through the connecting wire 8 to the unit tap winding 3B not adjacent to the parallel winding, and the unit tap winding 3B is connected through the connecting wire 9 to the unit tap winding 3A. Further, the unit tap winding 3A adjacent to the parallel winding 2 is connected through the connecting wire 10 to the series winding 4. The windings thus connected can largely reduce the voltage induced at the tap windings via incoming impulse voltage.
