Abstract

PURPOSE:To completely correspond a monitor output to an LED output with a simple construction by placing a photodetecting diode having a large photodetecting surface adjacent to the LED perpendicularly to the LED and collecting approx. 1/4 of total quantity of light of lateral components of the light emitted from the LED. CONSTITUTION:A photodetecting diode element 1 is associated within a subassembly for mounting an LED2, and one lead wire 3 is increased in a hermetic sealing system, and the monitor output is produced from this wire 3. A ceramic block 8 serves to mount the element 1 at right angle, a chip mount and wire bond are associated beforehand on the element 1, and are then mounted on an LED subassembly in assembling. Thus, the element 1 having large photodetecting surface is placed adjacent to the LED2 perpendicularly to the LED2 so that approx. 1/4 of the total quantity of light of the lateral component of the light emitted from the LED2 may be collected. Consequently, the monitor output can be completely corresponded to the LED output with a simple construction.
