Abstract
PURPOSE: To convert kinetic energy possessed by ocean current into electric energy effectively, by providing a water turbine including an interlocking gear mechanism in a double-hull ship, and passing ocean current along the lower portion of the water turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A water turbine 1 including an interlocking gear mechanism 3 is provided in a double-hull ship 4. The water turbine 1 is connected to a generator 7 via the interlocking gear mechanism 3 and a generator interlocking gear mechanism 6, and ocean current is passed along the lower portion of the water turbine 1. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to convert kinetic energy possessed by the ocean current effectively into electric energy.
