Abstract

Then, the sheet thickness control circuit 17 produces a thickness correction signal correspondingly to the deviation of this detected sheet thickness from the value of sheet thickness set in the sheet thickness setting circuit 18. Here-upon, if the sheet thickness correction signal is below the limit value for the sheet thickness control output, the sheet thickness control out-put limiting circuit 19 produces a thickness correction signal as the speed difference correction signal by which the speed of the upper roll 4 is altered. Meanwhile, if the sheet thickness correction signal is above the limit value of the sheet thickness control output, the speed of the upper roll 4 is altered within the limit of this control output, and the residual excess is produced as the tension set correction output to correct the tension.
