Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the abrasion and settling of the supporting members which connect blade tip members such as excavating tooth tip members to the body of a land working member to prolong the life of said member by hardening said supporting members.
CONSTITUTION: Excavating tooth tip members 1 are supported by means of supporting members 2 to a body 4 of a land working member. In this case, the supporting members 2 are connected to the body 4 by means of pins 3 or welding W and protecting materials 5, 6 called "wear edges", "wear caps" or "shrouds" are mounted thereto. The tip parts of the supporting members 2 are hardened by various methods, whereby the abrasion of the supporting members 2 by sand and soil is prevented, the abrasion loss of the excavating tooth tip members and supporting members is decreased and the life thereof is prolonged. The same effect is also obtainable by applying hardening to the connected parts between the body 4 and supporting members 2, the connected parts between the body 4 and wear edges 5, the connected parts between the supported members 2 and wear edges 5 and the connected parts between the supporting members 2 and wear caps 6.
