PURPOSE:To obtain a timing signal with optimum phase, by converting the timing signal into the waveform having a slope at leading and trailing and adjusting the slice level to this signal. CONSTITUTION:An input signal 11 is converted into a waveform having a slope at leading and trailing via a BPF17, regenerative amplifier 18, and waveform operation circuit 19. Further, the timing signal in which the leading and trailing phase of the signal is continuously adjusted is input to identifying circuits 15, 22 by adjusting the slice level of the slice amplifiers 20, 21. Further, the input signal 11 is input to the circuits 15, 22 via a comparator 14. Thus, since the phase of timing signal is adjustable, the adjustment of optimum phase for instantaneous identification is made easy.
