Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a liquid-quenched thin belt with efficiency by catching and winding a thin belt, solidified by being quenched and running in contact around the internal circumferential surface of a cooling drum by centrifugal force, with a rotary take-up drum provided in contact with the internal surface of a cooling drum. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of a thin liquid-quenched belt by quenching and solidifying a fused material by spraying it from nozzle 2 onto the internal circumferential surface of cooling drum 1 rotating at a high speed, rotary take-up drum 3 is provided away from the drop point of the fused material jetted from nozzle 2 as much as possible in contact with the internal circumferential surface of cooling drum 1 or at an extremely slight interval. The thin belt solidified by being quenched in cooling drum 1 runs along the cooling surface and enters the gap between cooling drum 1 and rotary take-up drum 3, so that it is caught and wound around take-up drum 3.
