Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect double-feeding precisely by finding the value of paper thickness as the standard of a record slip on the basis of a format classification number given to the record slip and detecting double-feeding on reference to this value of paper thickness.
CONSTITUTION: A format classification number given to a record slip 2 is read by a reading head 9, and a resultant electric signal is sent to a recognition circuit 14. A control information corresponding to the format classification number is obtained by the recognition circuit 14, and a data to indicate the standard thickness of the record slip is stored in a memory 15. The measured thickness of the record slip stored in a register 12 is compared with the data of the standard thickness of the record slip stored in a register 16 by a comparison circuit 13 for detecting double-feeding or other abnormalities.
