Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify a transmitter by transmitting and receiving digitized bits by light pulses differing in light emission wavelength when transmitting and receiving an analog signal by a light transmission system by converting it into a digital signal. CONSTITUTION:Analog television signal 2-1 to be transmitted is covered by A/D converter 2-2 into an eight-bit digital signal and eight-bit parallel signals are supplied to eight corresponding light transmitters 2-3 differing in light emission wavelength. Respective transmitters 2-3 generate light pulses corresponding to corresponding bit states and respective light pulses are mixed by light mixer 2-5 and sent to one optical fiber 2-6. At the reception terminal, branching filter 2-7 with branching characteristics corresponding to light emission wavelengths branches it into eight wave light pulses, which are passed through the next light receiver 2-9 to obtain parallel electric signals and eight-bit D/A converter 2-10 restores them to the original analog signal.
