Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the false detection of toner concn. by checking the excessively high point of toner concn. with the simple constitution of forming a resonance circuit by means of a coil and a capacitor and detecting the toner concn. in the inductive region thereof. CONSTITUTION:This is a device of detecting toner concn. based on the change in the magnetic permeability of the developer, wherein a resonance circuit is formed by connecting a detecting coil 9 detecting the magnetic permeability as an inductance of the coil and a resonance capacitor 8 in series or parallel. The output voltage V of the resonance circuit is compared with a reference voltage Vc, whereby whether the toner concn. is higher or lower than the standard value is discriminated. In this case, the value of the capacitor 8 is so set that when the developer is of a standard toner concn. the resonance circuit becomes inductive, whereby false detection is prevented.
