Abstract

PURPOSE: To swiftly detect the fixed fault and responsiveness failure of the photoelectric system, by flickering the light emitting source, generating a prescribed timing signal, and checking them.
CONSTITUTION: A control signal 102 for controlling the electric power supply circuit 2, and check timing signals 103, 104 for controlling the FF's 5, 6 are generated in conformity with rise of a column 0 signal 101 by the timing generating circuit 1. The circuit 2 is controlled by this signal 102, and the light emission diodes 11W22 are turned on-off-on. Light beams of said diodes 11W22 are detected by the light detecting elements 31W42, and after they have been photoelectrically converted, they are shaped by the amplifying and shaping circuits 51W62, and are supplied to the NAND circuit 3 and the OR circuit 4. Further the light emitting status of the diodes 11W20, the turned off status, and the status before they become the light emitting status once again, are checked by the circuits 3 and 4, and a fixed fault is detected. Also, a status signal which has been checked is provided to the FF's 5, 6, so that the responsiveness failure can be detected.
