Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the braking and stopping operation of a linear electromagnetic brake clurch without converting the linear movement of an armature into rotary movement by causing the armature to be adsorbed on a yoke by exciting the yoke of a parallelized two straight line form, connected at its one side end.
CONSTITUTION: A yoke 2 is of a parallelized two straight line form with a connect ed side end and the other opened end. The connected portion of the yoke 2 is wound with an excited coil 1, and an armature 3 is hanged in a laid manner on the parallelized two straight line portion of said yoke 2. And, a friction lining 4 is fixed to a portion facing the yoke 2 of the armature 3, and a drive pin 7 holds in a sliding manner the armature 3 and also is fixed to an armature holder 6 connected to an outside mover. When exciting said yoke 2, the armature 3 is sucked by the yoke 2 in preference to a return spring 5 to produce a friction force between the friction lining 4 and the yoke 2.
