Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a ferritic stainless steel for bright annealing finish having a specified composition contg. C, N, etc. and a specified amount of Ti represented by a specified formula and controlling deterioration in the corrosion resistance just under a bright annealed oxide coat.
CONSTITUTION: This ferritic stainless steel with superior corrosion resistance for bright annealing finish consists of ≤0.03% C, ≤0.025% N, ≤1% Si, ≤1% Mn, ≤0.01% S, ≤0.02% O, 11.5W20% Cr, 0.2W1.5% Ni, 0.05W0.7% Ti as the amount of available Ti represented by formula I, and the balance Fe and impurities. Even if ≤1.5% Mo and/or ≤1% Cu is added to the composition, the alloy has similar effect.
