Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable high-speed engraving and mass production of patterns by a method wherein the heat beams such as laser beams and the light of an arc lamp are applied to the surface of the pattern of photosensitive resin formed by coating on a wooden board and the like and thereby the surface other than that bearing the pattern is depressed.
CONSTITUTION: The liquefied stock of photosensitive resin or the stock plate 2 of prepolymer is placed directly on a wood or plastic substance 1 to be processed and is further coated with a negative 3 to be exposed to the beams of light. Then, the photosensitive resin 2 which is not polymerized by the beams is washed away by alcohol or the like to form a convex part 4. Next, when the scanning irradiation is applied to this substance with the heat beams 5 such as laser beams, the part with no photosensitive resin 2 is exposed and burnt by the beams and thereby a concave part 6 is formed, while the lower part of the substance coated with the photosensitive resin 2 incurs no processing. This method is fitted for mass production in comparison with manual engraving and enables design of a minute part.
