Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture rock product having beautiful color, by infiltrating coloring material into the pores in the surface of a rock, then by coating the surface with synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A rock is immersed in aqueous soln. or suspension of a dyestuff available on the market e.g. dispersed dyestuff, acid dyestuff, etc. or pigment, and is heat-treated at ordinary temp. or at a temp. not lower than ordinary temp. Hereby the rock is colored from the surface to the inside. Or rock is immersed in aqueous soln. of an org. or inorg. compound such as aniline or oxalic acid and is treated at ordinary temp., or by heating to a temp. not lower than ordinary temp., then it is oxidized or reduced, or treated with alkali so as to color the inside of the rock. After colored, the rock is finished by coating with, or by impregnating with, soln. of synthetic resin, hereby a rock product having fast, excellently developed, beautiful hue is manufactured.
