Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect the purification of seawater with a good thermal efficiency in a process of brine purification using a multistage flush evaporator by a method wherein part of concentrated brine is discharged and the remaining part is cooled with a low temperature fluid and then guided to condensation pipe bundle.
CONSTITUTION: The brine is repeated with a sequential flush evaporation in each of the evaporation chambers 2aW2f and is flowed as concentrated brine from the last stage evaporation chamber 2f. The concentrated brine is cooled in a cooler 8 which uses a low-temperature fluid such as LNG or the like guided through pipe 17. The cooled concentrated brine is flowed through condensing pipe bundle 5fW5a, and the brine is heated with a brine heater 9, then circulated through each of the evaporation chambers. At this time, the stock seawater is deaerated by a deaerator 14 and supplied through a distributor 15 to the evaporation chambers having nearly the same temperature as the seawater. At the same time, part of the concentrated brine is discharged from pipe 11 so that a constant concentration is maintained. In this manner, the concentrated brine is circulated to minimize the amount of seawater used, and the production of noncondesable gas in the seawater is reduced. This enhances heat efficiency.
