Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the ear height of the developer uniform without any mechanical pressure and make possible fine adjustment of the ear height by changing the relative speed of a magnet roll turning in the same direction and a sleeve and controlling the amount of the developer conveyed.
CONSTITUTION: The movement of the developer 13 on a sleeve 1 by the magnet roll 2 and nonmagnetic sleeve 1 turning in the same direction opposite from the moving direction of the developer 13 goes through an ear height defining blade member 7 which is held in contact with the sleeve 1 so as to oppose to the rotating direction of the sleeve because the conveying force by the roll 2 is large, and the amount of conveyance of the developer 13 which is being conveyed in the direction opposite from the rotating direction on the sleeve 1 changes according to changing of the relative speed of the sleeve 1 and the roller 2. With this constitution of not mechanically applying pressure to the ear height with a doctor etc., the uniform defining of the ear height of the magnetic brush formed by the developer and the fine adjustment of the ear height are performed easily and surely.
