Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform spot welding continuously while automatically positioning the weld point at the time of welding small parts of multiple weld points to the work, by making use of a link mechanism as the transmission device of indexing respective welding positions through the utilization of ascending and descending movements of a movable electrode.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of fixing the work to the rotary feed table 9 of a welding machine 1, and intermittently rotating the same by indexing with a predetermined accurate depression feed angle the, piston rod 6 of a cylinder 5 is operated to lower a movable electrode 2 at the welding. Along with this, a link 21 is lowered to move the feed jaw 27 of a crank 25 backward up to the maximum 90° of the feed angle. At this time, a right-angle hinge 32 rotatively oscillates about 90° and this arc motion is converted to linear feed motion by a slide bar 34; at the same time, the feed jaw of 17 is retreated up to the maximum feed angle of about 90° by way of a rotating lever 15. When this state is just reached, the movable electrode 2 abuts on the work, then the current flows between the upper and lower electrode 2, 7, whereby spot welding is accomplished.
