Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the molded product which is free from residual bubbles and provided with the reinforcing plate members, by a method wherein a glass-fiber mat, the resin-coated reinforcing plate member and another glass-fiber mat are placed in sequence on the molding surface of a male die, and then synthetic resin is poured between the male and female dies.
CONSTITUTION: The glass-fiber mat 3 is laid along the molding surface (a) of the male die 1. The reinforcing plate members 4 coated with a resin are mounted on the back surface of the bottom wall 7 of a bathtub A covered with the glass fiber mat 3. The reinforcing plate members 4 to become the reinforcement for the bottom wall 7 are prepared of plywood and are previously coated with a synthetic resin such as polyester to seal the grains with the film coat 8. Then another glass-fiber mat 3 is placed in such a manner as to cover the reinforcing plate members 4. A female die 2 is matched to the male die 1 on which the reinforcing plate members 4 are mounted, then the synthetic resin such as polyester is poured in through a pouring hole 9, and the dies are opened after a predetermined lapse of time to obtain the molded product.
