Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the decrease in the quality of reproduced images by forming the signal indicating black color information from the correction signals having removed the black color information from the respective pieces of image information of cyan, magenta and yellow and these correction signals and reproducing color images.
CONSTITUTION: With a red filter RF held inserted in an optical path, an original 11 is moved and the cyan picture element signal in a complementary color relation with a red color is read out from a read element 14 and is stored in a memory MR. Next, the magenta picture element signal in a complementary color relation with a green color is stored in a memory MG in a similar manner, and further, the yellow picture element signal in a memory MB. Next, the picture element signals are read out simultaneously from these memories, and are applied to arithmetic circuits LR, LG, LB, LBL and the results of operations are led out to signal lines SL4WSL7. The correction cyan signal, correction magenta signal and correction yellow signal having been led out in this way do not contribute to the formation of black images and since the black images are fomred by the black signal only, the black images which are accurate and free from any position deviation may be obtained.
