Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain stable treated water from low-BOD waste water by adding activated sludge obtaned from a separate low-BOD waste water containing similar components to the low-BOD waste water in an aeration process.
CONSTITUTION: To a low-BOD waste water of a BOD concentration of 50W150 ppm, activated sludge obtained from a waste water containing principal components similar to the low-BOD waste water to be treated is added separately from returned slduge from the final sedimentation process, at an aeration process, where the concentration of MLSS in the mixed liquor is kept at approx. 3,000W3,500ppm. Then, in the preceding stage, namely flocculating stage, of the final sedimentation process, an inorganic flocculant and a high molecular flocculant are added. Thus, stable quality of treated water can be obtained while keeping the concentration of MLSS in the aeration process constant.
