Abstract

PURPOSE: To elevate mold-releasing property and strength by coating on the roll a composition obtained by mixing a special amount of silicone oil with silicone rubber consisting of white carbon and special dimethyl polysiloxane.
CONSTITUTION: A composition is prepared by mixing silicone oil is 17W35wt% with two component type cold hardening silicone rubber, which consists mainly of both reinforcing filler made up mainly of white carbon and base polymer consisting of terminal hydroxyl group sealed dimethyl polysiloxane. This composition is coated on the outside of a metal core, then hardened and dipped into the silicone oil to manufacture a heat roll which is used for the fixing portion of a duplicator. As for the viscosity of the silicone oil mixed with the silicone rubber, 50W500 centi-stokes is adequate for methyl phenyl polysiloxane.
