Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate obstruction for navigation and to sufficiently demonstrate a pollution dispersion prevention effect by a method wherein a soil casting water area is surrounded with a curtain type material and a breakwater and one end thereof is freely opened.
CONSTITUTION: A silt protector 4 is lowered by means of a float 5 in a water area off a proper distance from a breakwater 1 and this silt protector 4 consists of a straight line portion (4A) parallel along the lengthwise direction of the breakwater 1, the blocking part (4B) starting from the one end of the streched construction of silt protector 4 to the breakwater 1 and a part protruding (4C) in a certain distance from the silt protector to the breakwater 1. One end of the silt protector has an opening 3 to permit navigation of a hopper barge 2 and a gut ship which takes the hopper barge in tow, thus, forming a soil casting water area A surrounding. A hopper barge 2 is taken to a soil casting water area A towed by a gut ship 6 through the opening 3, and soil and sand are cast away into water from the ship bottom. The silt protector 4 prevents the pollution caused by this from dispersing and running out of the soil casting water area.
