Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an adsorbable sheet which excels in the adsorbing characteristic, the flute working and others with elimination of the thermal treatment and a high yield of the activated carbon, by using the cation inorganic fiber along with the activated carbon powder and the anionic binder as the essential components for the wet production of paper.
CONSTITUTION: The activated carbon powder and the cation inorganic fiber such as the asbestos fiber or the like are dispersed into the water, and furthermore other fibers are added when necessary. Then the anionic binder is added with addition of the cationic binder when necessary to give modification to the dispersed slurry. This slurry is then made into paper by the round steel paper making machine. The cation inorganic fibers are dispersed with a large surface area and charged positively, and thus the anionic binder is adsorbed in preference and is not adsorbed into the activated carbon powder substantially. Thus no impairment is given to the adsorbing fine pores, the uneven surface form, etc. of the powder. As a result, an extremely fine adsorbing characteristic can be obtained for the sheet to realize a mass production of the anionic binder. Accordingly, both the intensity and the flexibility can be increased for the sheet, at the same time increasing the adaptability for the flute working.
