Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the unevenness of illuminance distribution by irradiating an original surface with luminous flux from a light source in two differnt directions via two reflecting plates and by interposing a light-diffusing film in the optical path of the luminous flux.
CONSTITUTION: In refecting plate 2, light source 1 such as a miniature halogen lamp is provided. Reflecting plate 2 has light-diffusing filter 4 extended at flank opening part 3. Additionally, reflecting plate 5 is provided which focuses light from flank opening part 8 of reflecting plate 2 on the surface of original 7. Namely, the light from light source 1 is projected out in two directions from top opening part 3 and flank opening part 8 and the light from top opening part 8 is diffused by filter 4 and reaches the surface of original 7. Thus, the original is irradiated with light beams in two directions, and consequently the unevenness of illumination distribution due to the unevenness of the surface of original 7 is reduced as well as the glare of the direct light from light source 1.
