Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the production efficiency, by coating an aqueous surface- treating solution containing a copolymer of an α-olefin and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid on a surface of an Al plate for a food can subjected to the defatting and the washing treatment.
CONSTITUTION: On a surface of an aluminum plate for a food can subjected to the defatting and the washing treatment, a surface-treating solution obtained by dissolving a water-soluble thermoplastic high-molecular resin comprising a copolymer of an α-olefin and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid is coated in an amount of above 0.01g/m2 and below 1.0g/m2 on a dry film basis and dried. By this method, the cracking and the peeling are not generated in the folding severer than the case of the tab material processing and water resistance is good and the rust generation is reduced.
