Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a printed record-image of high quality by a method wherein the controlling device for the temperature of ink, which is separated into two steps of rough control and fine control, is provided in a channel for feeding the ink to an ink-jet head so as to prevent the change in the viscosity, surface tension and other properties of the ink. CONSTITUTION:In the vicinity of the terminal part of a channel 15 for feeding ink to the ink-jet head 1 (e.g. between a filter 14 and the head 1, on the feeding side of the head 1, and in the united form) are provided the 1st step 30 for rough control and the 2nd step 40 for fine control for the control of temperature of ink. The step 30 for rough control is preferably equiped with a flow channel 33 for heating and a flow channel 32 for cooling and further provided with a valve 31 opening either one of the channels, or both of them simultaneously if required. The step 40 for fine control is preferably equipped with a planelike expanding channel 41 held between a heating means 43 and a cooling element 42.
