Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a simple and effective reinforcing of foundation ground for a building structure by a method wherein a sheet pile is made to be a trapezoide form having a pair of engaging couplings and then driven obliquely into the ground around the existing building structure.
CONSTITUTION: Foundation footings 4 are properly spaced apart around the building structure 1, sheet piles 3 having a longitudinal taper and a pair of right and left engaging couplings 5 are obliquely driven along the foundation footings in sequence, resulting in making a substantial large funnel around the structure. Overall weight of the existing building structure is supported by this funnel sheet piles. Thus, it is possible to have an easy reinforcing structure without giving any influence against the operation in the building structure.
