Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled welding robot being carriable, movable and simple in the construction, by supporting a guide stick uniting a torch to its body attached to the end of a arm which is capable to control its position on the plane parallel to the plane of a base stand.
CONSTITUTION: In order to weld a welding line WL of a lap joint in a work, particularly in a large, heavy work W, a base stand 1 is set on the work W, and fixed by an absorbing means 1a. A swivel axis 2 on the base stand has a first arm 3 at right angle, of which end a swivellable second arm 4 is attached to. A guide stick 5 is attached to an end of the second arm 4 with a parallel axis, free in swivel and sliding, and is pressed downward by a spring so as to touch the surface of work W at its end point. In this time a welding point WP of the end of torch T is set to position on the welding line WL. When, in automatic welding, the stick 5 always traces on the surface of the work W, up and down, thus the torch T made to trace in the same way.
