Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve responsiveness and shorten the time for calibration by bringing glass electrode into contact with high ion concentration solution and correcting it with low concentration reference solution.
CONSTITUTION: Air in the piping 4 is withdrawn by opening the valve 7 and low concentration reference solution is introduced from the reference solution tank 6 connected to the piping 4 by operating the change-over valve 5. When making zero calibration of ultra low concentration ion measuring device by the above procedures, a small amount of high concentration solution is added to the cell 1 from the position of inlet c installed directly on the downstream a and b of the valve 7 and 5 or the measuring cell 1 simultaneously with the operation of the above valve. Thus, glass electrode in the cell 1 makes contact with high concentration solution immediately before correction and then makes contact with low concentration reference solution, thus showing prompt responsiveness against reference solution.
