Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the unnecessary lowering of brake pressure and the extension of braking distance by keeping the brake pressure at a constant level unitl it is reduced to a fixed reference value of deceleration after the deceleration of a wheel reaches the peak value.
CONSTITUTION: When a master cylinder 30 is operated to start braking and the deceleration of a wheel surpasses the first reference value of deceleration, the deceleration signal from a deceleration signal generator 7 is brought to H. Then, this signal is transmitted to an off-gate 17 via an off-delay timer 16, whose output is brought to H to supply current to a solenoid 19. Simultaneously, output signals from an off-gate 14 and an and-gate 15 are brought to H, and current is supplied to a solenoid 24. Consequently, a supply valve 32 and a discharge valve 33 are closed, and the supply of pressure oil to a brake cylinder 36 is intercepted. Subsequently, when the deceleration begins to decrease, the discharge valve 33 is again opened, while the supply valve 32 is kept to be closed by the operation of the delay timer 16.
