Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a degradation of an accuracy of positioning caused by a thermal displacement etc. by a method wherein an automatic centering correction process is added to a manufacturing program for an numerical controlled machine tool such as a machining center etc.
CONSTITUTION: Three sensors 11, 12, 13 are arranged at the leading end of the measuring bar 10 having a base shape which may be installed at a tool magazine or a main shaft in the same manner as theat of the tool applied to a numerical controlled machine tool such as a machining center etc. The measuring bar 10 is automatically exchanged or installed and inserted into a reference hole 14. An error between a center of the measuring bar 10 and a center of the reference hole 14 is automatically calculated in reference to a measured value of the clearances y1W y3 between a position of each of the sensors 11W13 and the inner surface of the reference hole 14, the calculated value is fed back to the numerical controlled device to provide an automatic correction for a positioning of the tool and thereby a highly accurate working of the work requiring less loss time may be performed.
