Abstract

PURPOSE: To change the speed of a doffer in a stepless manner and to eliminate the stepped unevenness of a web, by sending an intermittent signal to a high-speed electromagnetic clutch (H) of a high- and low-speed rotation transfer mechanism comprising H and a low-speed clutch.
CONSTITUTION: The switch PB is closed to excite the relay X1, and the low-speed clutch L is communicated to rotate the doffer D at a low speed. A voltage is applied to excite the timer T1 simultaneously, and a voltage is applied to the relay X3 and timers T2 and T3 to cutoff the communication of the clutch L. The relay X4 is then excited to drive a wave communication circuit. The high-speed clutch H is intermittently communicated by the signal from the circuit to increase the rotation of the output shaft 25 in a stepless manner. For decelerating the doffer D, the exicitation of the relay X3, and timers T2 and T3 is released to communicate the clutch H intermittently, and the shaft is decelerated in a stepless manner.
