Abstract
PURPOSE: To make effective use of wiping surfaces and perform long-time continuous wiping work by holding plural wiping bodies having rotatable wiping members to a holding machine body and disposing the same around the traveling wire material.
CONSTITUTION: A traveling wire material 4 passes the inside of the through-hole 9 of a holding machine body 5 between guide rings 2, 3 and contacts the wiping members 18, 18' of respective wiping bodies 6AW6D. At this time, the impurities stuck to the wire material 4 surface are removed and the wire material 4 is thereby cleaned. When the cleaning capacity of the wiping members 18, 18' decreases, the rotating force of a motor is transmitted to the the respective revolving shafts of the wiping bodies 6AW6D via the revolving shaft of a revolution transmission machine 6E to rotate the respective wiping members 18, 18' at a predetermined angle in the circumferential direction so that the fresh wiping surfaces are contacted with the wire material 4. Thereby, the labor of the exchange of wiping member is decreased.
