Abstract
PURPOSE: To regenerate a polluted gold plating liquid by precipitating and separating harmful metals mixed in a gold plating liquid containing gold in the form of gold potassium cyanide and not containing free cyanide by a chelate action of a metal chelating agent.
CONSTITUTION: An aimed gold plating liquid contains gold in a form of gold potassium cyanide and does not contain any free cyanide. Harmful metals mixed in the gold plating liquid are formed by the mixture of a pretreated liquid and dissolving a plated article material, a jig or a leading wire with copper, lead, tin and nickel constituting its main body. Into said polluted gold plating liquid, an org. chelating agent or a sulfur compound thereof is added as a metal chelating agent. Heavy metal ions of a pollution source is converted to insoluble compounds due to the chelating action and precipitated by coagulation. As a chelating agent, a commercial aqueous solution is used and an added amount thereof is about 2W10ml/l. On said occasion, if about 2g/l of activated carbon powder is added in use with said chelating agent, the regenerating effect is further accelerated.
